Hi All.....For those of you asking for updates on Charley from Maryland, he is now safe and sound in my house here in New Joisey!...I actually made the trip down yesterday morning with Blake and by 5:00 PM yesterday evening we were back at my house with Charley in tow....
I was considering keeping him myself and renaming him Harley (sounds like Charley).... UNTIL.....In the spirit of continuing to name my dogs after writers and literary figues, Karen ( Karen and Jack) reminded me that Charley was the name of writer John Steinbeck's black standard poodle and a main charactrer in his classic autobiographical tale "Travels with Charley"...so needless to say, Charley will remain "Charley".....THANKS KAREN!

Unfortunately, Charlie has a real Alpha personality and Blake who is a true Alpha is a bit stressed with this new situation as Charley challenges his authority constantly and refuses to recognize Blake's dog borders and boundaries.....Tonight they really went at it and Blake suffered what appears to be a minor seizure from the ordeal!...I am quite upset about this... so sadly Charley is going to have to be re-homed as per my original plan....Blake is doing fine now and recovered quickly but not before scaring the hell out of me!....Other than his lack of dog etiquette, Charley is a beautiful ,well trained, loverboy Goldendoodle.....He is much larger than I was led to believe but he is sweet and when not causing alpha related trouble...lol... all he wants to do is snuggle and play lap dog.....

I was on the phone with her as the power went out here. I have tried to CB and email her, but haven't heard back yet. She said Charley didn't want to go and was pulling on her, and I know how hard she felt about that. He even jumped out of the car to get back to her. That must have been torture. Jac, we are here for you. Remember...what is meant to be...will be. Love you!
I talked to her. She's still sad, but she'll be fine, so will Charley, and Blake will be ecstatic, lol!
Hopefully, she'll show up here soon, when she's up to talking about it without crying.
I understand!
I'm here......Thank you Karen for posting that little birdy comment.....I'm so grateful for your friendship......I'm so glad that we managed to find each other here on DK....love you woman! : )

I just heard from Susan Bauer the woman who adopted Charley from me this evening.....After our heartwrenching farewell which played out in true tear jerking, Hollywood blockbuster fashion....Charley is now at his new home in Bucks County PA and making himself at home with his new brother ( An Old English Sheepdog named Benny) and sister ( A female Standard Poodle named Carmie)....I'm SOOOO RELIEVED!!!...Because the goodbye was pretty traumatic...Imagine...Charley driving away with his cutie doodle head sticking out of the window CRYING......and looking at me...I was in tears....Suddenly, I heard Susan cry out "CHARLEY!" and I turned around to see a that crazy doodle boy BARRELING UP MY DRIVEWAY AT TOP SPEED TOWARDS ME!...NO BS!....He somehow managed to press the automatic window button, open it and jump out of the window of the moving car!....When he reached me he threw himself in to my arms and wrapped his paws around me in a big desperate doodle hug.....Of course I wrapped my arms around him and burst into tears......I just kept saying how sorry I was over and over again....It was HORRIBLE!...Susan tried to collect him and he actually ran behind me cowering and whining.....My heart was breaking!.....but we managed to get him back in the car and away he went to his new life......Of course I immediately called you andLynne sobbing and you know the rest.....

Blake is back to his old self again.....Being a TERROR...lol....but for 3 short days, he was trying his hardest to be the best most well behaved doodle in the world!...He actually ate every single thing in his bowl the minute I put the food down...was peeing and pooping on a schedule, was being an amazing listener.......LMAO!.....He watched Charley go and had a look on his face like " SEE YA!...WOULDN"T WANT TO BE YA!...DON"T LET THE DOGGIE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE A**!........LOL!..

Susan promised to join DK and keep us all posted on Charley's progress.....THANK YOU ALL!!!!! You have all been so wonderful with your support through this......What would I do without you all?

WHAT A DAY!!! ...I need a drink......
Thank you so much Lynne for listening to me cry on the phone, your support and everything you do....I turned on the news as soon as we were cut off and heard that a transformer blew in Monmouth County....no worries...I knew that you didn't hang up on me on purpose........Love you too!
Jacquie, in your heart you know that this is the right thing for Charley, Blake and YOU! Snuggle up with the Blakester in bed tonight, and know that Charley is in a wonderful new forever home that you hand-picked for him, and he is going to be just fine. Thanks to you. Great job, kiddo.
Sounds like a tough couple of days, Jac, but you helped Charley find his forever home, and you should be happy and proud about that. I'm sure Blake is happy to help, too, even if Charley pushed his buttons.
I'm snuggling the little brute right now as I type with one hand!...lol.....He is so happy to have his mommy to himself again!...lol
