Oh my gosh...  I am beyond excited about Charlie coming home on Friday.  My sons and I are really looking forward to seeing him.  The hubby doesn't know yet, but he knows I've been wanting a Doodle for many years.  If he bonds well with our youngest son, Cameron, he will end up being Cameron's service dog.  Cameron has spina bifida and is seven years old.

I just love this community and I'm sure I'll have tons of questions for you guys!

I told the hubby.  He's not happy about it right now, but I'm hoping that sweet doodle face will soften him up.  He's not as crazy about dogs as I am.  :(

You know, I first got started with doodles when I saw a labradoodle that was a service dog for a boy in Finland who was handicapped and snowbound for much of the year.  Everyone skied and he had (I think it was spina bifida) a disability that kept him from going to school.   They got this dog and trained him to pull a sled several miles a day to school and he would take the boy in the morning, stay all day, and take him home in the afternoon.  When I saw that, I wanted a labradoodle and picked one that looked very much like that dog.  So you could say therapy dogs got me started with doodles.  They are great dogs and make wonderful therapy dogs.  Good luck with your therapy dog in training.

My husband wasn't too thrilled about me getting our rescue doodle in August. The other day he told me that it is the best dog he's ever had in his entire life and so glad I don't listen to him. :)

By the way he confessed he fell in love with the dog within one day. Enjoy your new pooch, he sure is cute.
