Charlie has been invited to talk to kindergartens at career day. Yes we believe the guidance counselor is desperate as Charlie roams the hall of the school two days a week. Charlie works with the reading resource teacher on Monday afternoons and children on a one on one basic Monday morning and Thursday.

It’s not a job or career; it’s just our way of giving back to a great school.

We will spend 20 minutes with each class. We are looking for suggestions. Should I talk about Charlie and his “JOB” from my point of view or do I have Charlie write a letter that I read from his point of view?

I like that. I bought the book ,Mollie Doodle comes home last year and give it to the Reading resource teacher. I'm making a note to ask her to loan us the book for Tuesday.
I think that a Charlie would love to tell his story and the kids would think that is really cool that a Doodle came to school and told his story. It would be really cute if you made little photos of Charlie, sort of like baseball trading cards, and handed them out to each student!
Charlie has been very lucky. This is his second year at this school. I did have trading cards made for the begining of the . Just counted I don't have enough. I need them for this coming Tuesday. What do you think of business cards that gives one free Charlie hug or one free stoy with Charlie.?
Oh, for sure those would be a hit! I just visited my three grandsons in Boston and they are 2, 4, and 6 yrs. Even my little guy would love a hug or a story. That would be such a great treat for those kids and I bet they will be on their best behavior ever!!
My students loved the pen pal letters they wrote to Charlie and his response. They also wrote to my doodle, Ned and loved the letters he 'wrote' back to them.
I love the idea of hearing the story from his point of view. Go for it and I am sure it will be a huge success.
