Charlie has been invited to talk to kindergartens at career day. Yes we believe the guidance counselor is desperate as Charlie roams the hall of the school two days a week. Charlie works with the reading resource teacher on Monday afternoons and children on a one on one basic Monday morning and Thursday.

It’s not a job or career; it’s just our way of giving back to a great school.

We will spend 20 minutes with each class. We are looking for suggestions. Should I talk about Charlie and his “JOB” from my point of view or do I have Charlie write a letter that I read from his point of view?

I think the kids would really love it from Charlies point of view. Especially ones that young ..... maybe with some pictures. And tell him not to forget to talk about DoodleKisses!
I think they would love hearing what Charlie has to say. Write the letter :)
I agree the kids would love hearing from Charlie's point of view. My first grade grand daughter often asks me....what is Guinness (or Murphy) thinking now? It fascinates her. This really sounds like fun.
20 Minutes is a long time if your talking, maybe you might have to do a little of both. I do think the children would like to hear Charlies point of view. Good luck!
I thought we would have a short story time.
Charlie's POV for sure!!!!
I vote from Charlie's point of view. That would be so cute!
Definitely from Charlies point of view. You never know, it might turn into a children's book
Yes there are lots of stories, he just needs a ghost writer. Like the day he left his hall and was in the office with the principal getting his paycheck before I got there! I was not happy. He then email the Principal and told her he counldn't understand why I was upset. That I should be happy that he knew how to get to the office.
I think it would be great to do it from Charlies point. If you need ideas take a look under the blog posts on the front page @ Memorial Day ...and Freedom and see how Christine and Shelby have been writing their daily adventures from Shelby's point of view, it is very interesting and entertaining.
This is a great idea. We journal with three of the children that we work with on Mondays and Thursday. They love to see what he has been up to when he isn't at school.
In addition to a letter from Charlie, it would be great to question the students to find out what they know about dogs and their needs BEFORE you read the letter. They like to show off what they already know. There is also a children's book written by a DK member called Mollie Doodle comes home, that would be great!
