Hi All!
Perry is doing just great, we're in training and she's growing like a weed! However..... ( LoL)
Evidently we are going to be in need of a steel harness ( doesn't sound comfortable right) haaha! Just kidding!
She has chewed through her second harness in less than a month!!! She chews through right at the chest.... she digs her head down and gets her mouth around it and treats it like a CHEW TOY!!
I assume most of you might suggest it needed to fit better, but if I go down in size, then that one is too small in other areas? i have adjusted it MANY time, trying to get it to fit snugger, but not constrciting... It's just the generic one that pet smart sells...
Anyone else have one to recommend that isn't chewed through as easily?????
Thanks!

Jack's does. The straps go under his front legs and the harness fits snugly. It's designed to put pressure on those areas, that's why it stops the pulling.
But even if it doesn't, there's no need for a dog to wear a harness indoors just for the purpose of being able to attach a leash quickly. A collar should be fine.
I don't have a picture of JD in his harness, but there are a ton of them on-line if you do a search.
You can clearly see the "belly" strap going under and behind the dog's front legs. This video is the best way, though, to see the harness and how it should be adjusted for proper fit:
I might give this brand a try... doesn't have the chest strap that she chews on ...LoL
I was thinking the same thing when I recommended it.
Sure it does, at least on the Easy Walk, you can see it in the video picture. It fits right up against the axilla.
ironically my dork boy Ollie still chewed through the strap with the ring on it on his gentle leader harness. (rolling my eyes) I just had to make sure I took it off as soon as he enters the apartment.
Here's a picture of it on a dummy, easier to see.

My dogs still wear their rolled leather collars always except when they are being bathed. That way I know I can grab them, not really necessary now a days. If they get out, a rare event they have their tags handy for someone to see. I see no downside since neither one has any tendency to grab a collar on the other one. Ears and tails are so much easier for them to grab. I always have two finger breadths of room under the collar.
