Coat type - how much can you tell from the puppy coat?

Hi there,

We're adopting a mini labradoodle at the end of the month, and I'm really curious about what his coat might look like. His mom is an F1 mini labradoodle with a wavy hair coat (sheds) and his father is a mini poodle. Our little guy was born with some waves, and now at 4 weeks old has pretty wavy and fluffy fur on his head, ears, chest and legs, while his back and sides don't seem to have any waves at all. Have any of you had an F1b puppy that looked like this (see pix)? What is the adult coat like?

Oh, he is just beautiful! I have an F1B Labradoodle and here are some pictures. I just posted a discussion about her grooming today. Fudge does get mats and I try and keep her hair shorter, for that reason. She does not shed at all. I think your pup is going to have a curly coat, but I am no expert. Enjoy him!!

It looks like he is already shedding! In my opinion, which is not expert by any means, he will probably have a curly/wavy coarse coat which may have a little shedding!
