Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I am looking to get another collar and leash for Millie as she's nearly outgrown her puppy one. She's 17 weeks now - would I be able to get her one that would fit her now, and for good, or will I need to go up one more size?
Also, those of you with your full-grown doodles, do you use 6 feet leads, and 1", or 3/4"? Do you use the same width for your collar? I'm sure it's personal preference, but would love to hear what you like to use. I'm looking at getting a 12 - 19" leash. I think her neck size is around 11-12" right now (just by quickly measuring her collar I'm using).
If anyone would like to share where to find some great prints, I'd be interested in that too! I'm looking at Etsy right now. :)
Thank you!

Nylon collars have adjustments for size so whatever you buy would last a while. If you get a leather collar, it needs to fit. You can take her with you and try them on. We use 6' leads - Clancy's is 1" and Ned's is 3/4 because he is a smaller dog. Ned and Clancy both have rolled leather collars and water collars. Clancy's water collar is 3/4" and Ned's is 1/2" wide.
I waited until Riley was a year old and I have just ordered a good collar for Boris, he is 10 months old now. They are both big boys. They wear 1 inch wide collars and I use 6 foot leads. Up to then I used the cheaper nylon ones as they keep growing so it's not worth buying an expensive leather one until I was sure it would not be a waste. Riley has been wearing his leather collar for well over a year and it's still as good as when I got it. It is a beaded collar from Kenya, expensive but beautiful. http://www.thekenyancollection.com/orders.html
Ooh, I especially love those!
Thank you all for the suggestions, I ended up going with the Etsy one in 1". The price was right, and I loved the print. I know I won't stop at one though. Saving this thread for future buys. :)
