I have been sick home sick with an upper respitorary infection the last two days and have been sleeping quite a bit.  When I woke up from a nap on Thursday afternoon I noticed Chewie had what looked like a small piece of a bully stick.   It was fairly small so I went to take it away so that he would not choke and it was an end of a puppy nylabone (brown softer one).  I thought he broke the end off so I was going to throw it away.  I searched and searched and searched and can not find the other 2/3 of the bone.  If he ate it, he has not had any problems.  He has been eating, playing and pooping normally.  Should I assume that it is OK if he does not develop any problems ????

Thanks for all of the replies. I am going to stay away from the Nylabones from now on. Better safe than sorry. I have the Antlerz which he will chew occasionally. Now that he is getting bigger he eats a 12 inch bully stick in a few hours and that is not something I want to give every day. I am still trying to get something hard for him to chew on ???
Try marrow bones. You can buy them from the butcher, or the pet supply stores have them filled & unfilled, and some stores even have fresh frozen ones.
Me too Karen... tori loves to chew daily and I really don't want her going through the sticks so quickly. Theother dental chews that were mentioned is eaten... I am really looking for something that will last much longer than only one or two days....
West Paw toys are the only type that Peri won't chew up. She has one or two of each design.
Otherwise, she gets antlerz or chews from the Jones Company. Like I said, trying Zukes next.
You could also try the Zukes dental bones. They come in different flavors too (carrot, cranberry). I have not yet tried them, but plan to. Zukes is a good company and a few others on here have recommended the bone/chews. I think they last longer than bully sticks, but not sure. That could give you some variety!

Beef tracheas are good also, if you can find them. The small pet supply stores that sell the premium foods often have them.
