The Environmental Protection Agency has issued a report concerning counterfeit Frontline Plus and Advantage products that may be sold by retailers, pet stores and Internet pharmacies. EPA has confirmed that counterfeit products have been unlawfully imported and packaged in cartons designed to appear like the legitimate products manufactured in the USA. Over 60,000 units of counterfeit Frontline Plus were sold in 2004, and the problem is increasing, according to the EPA.

These illegal products pose potential risks related to units of measure that are unfamiliar to U.S. consumers, lack of child-resistant packaging, lack of precautionary statements, and the potential for the pesticide itself to be other than what is indicated on the carton.

Thanks for posting this. I have gone back to purchasing Frontline & Heartgard from my vet instead of ordering it from the pet supply catalogs, the extra expense is worth the peace of mind.
ooohhhh... interesting! My Husband noticed the other day while we were at the pet supply store they sell Frontline and Advantage behind the counter. I have always gotten ours at the Vet's office - not knowing they sell them at the supply store. I guess it was a good accident that I forgot to ask the price that day!
