Danger Lurks in the Beautiful Fall Leaves

Be careful with playing in the leaves.  I let Bailey run through leaves and she had a ball sniffing and rooting in them but.....she jumped back at one point like something hurt her but kept right on playing.  About 3 hours later her eye was almost swollen shut and she was licking a place on her upper front leg.  Trip to the vet...shot of steroid and shot of benadryl and.prednisone pills for 2 weeks.  We figure something stung or bit her...ground wasp?? ...snake??...we will never know!  But sadly,  I won't be letting her play in the leaves again!

Poor Bailey! I sure hope that doesn't feel as bad as it looks! :( Get well soon sweet girl!

Thanks, Ricki!  I am amazed that she does not seem to be in pain.....just keeps licking her leg but so far leaving the eye alone.

Poor Bailey. I hope that the steroids helped. Fall leaves at fun, but only if you have raked them up yourself I guess.
