Danger Lurks in the Beautiful Fall Leaves

Be careful with playing in the leaves.  I let Bailey run through leaves and she had a ball sniffing and rooting in them but.....she jumped back at one point like something hurt her but kept right on playing.  About 3 hours later her eye was almost swollen shut and she was licking a place on her upper front leg.  Trip to the vet...shot of steroid and shot of benadryl and.prednisone pills for 2 weeks.  We figure something stung or bit her...ground wasp?? ...snake??...we will never know!  But sadly,  I won't be letting her play in the leaves again!

The swelling has gone down but it is still very red and inflamed.  Does not seem to bother her though!  Still licking the place on her leg but leaves the eye alone!  She is sleeping alot but eating well.  Looks like it is all going in the right direction and she will be back to her spunky little self soon!

I'm definitely for the protective bubble, especially since Libby had her knee surgery. Feel better sweet Bailey!
