I know there have been many discussions regarding Trifexis. This article was in today's paper. We stopped using Trifexis when started having reactions after taking it.

Thank you for posting this article, it contains a lot of valuable information.
I use Frontline Plus for fleas and ticks, and Heartgard for HW. I've been using them for many many years with multiple dogs, and never a problem.
I' m with you Karen. Haley's vet also promotes tried and true although shedoes carry thenewer products.
I used Frontline Plus and Heartgard for years until about 8 months ago when my vet told me about Nexgard. It is made by the Heartgard company and has been used in Europe for many years. It is a small square "chew" similar to Heartgard. I started using it for fleas and ticks .......and I still use Heartgard for heartworm as well. My dog loves both products and eats them happily. We live in the woods with lots of ticks and have not had any ticks on Bailey! We are very happy with these products.
Annabelle is on Revolution also. For now I am getting it directly from the vet each month. Once she stops gaining weight 1800petmeds has it about $5 a dose cheaper than the vet. You have to buy in multiples to get the cheaper price from them. In 3 months she will probably be over 10lbs. Who knows, she is 18 weeks and 8lbs now.
Beau & Sully were fine with Trifexis but Tank hated the pill and had mastered the art of making it come back up. I do not like the topicals as the boys are always rolling around over each other and it seemed almost impossible that some of it would not be ingested by accident. When Nexguard came out, we started with that and it has worked very well. The boys eat it without a problem and we had no fleas at all this summer. We are in Atlanta so there are not many hard freezes to totally kill them off from one season to the next. You do have to buy a separate heart worm pill. It has been a very good switch for the boys.
Well, okay then. Orwell will be switching to Nexgard and Heartgard next month.
Thanks for posting.
