Dear Rescue Friend Needs Your Help Now - Thanks so much!

Hi, Doodle Kisses! This is Emilie, and I have been a member/lurker for a long
time, but I have not posted here before. But today I come to you with an urgent
request for a wonderful animal advocate friend of mine.

Marcy Payne in Franklin TN founded a high quality animal shelter about 10 years
ago. it is thriving today. But sadly, Marcy is not.

One year after starting the shelter, Marcy was diagnosed with ALS, Lou Gehrig's
Disease. Today, she is confined to bed, totally paralyzed and unable to speak.
Her husband Rob, quit his job years ago to care for Marcy around the clock. What
a wonderful gift of love he gives to Marcy.

This family, with a teenage daughter and a young 20s son, survives totally on
donations from others. Rob has been very clever in devising fund raising ideas
to supplement their meager SSDI income. Can you only imagine doing this month
after month after month for 10 years????

Without Rob's constant care and presence, there is no doubt that Marcy would
have passed years ago. But she survives in her hospital bed in her living room,
trying to live a "normal life" by getting out in her special wheelchair to help
her daughter shop for school clothes, going to an occasional movie, etc. the
mere act of getting ready for such excursions takes more time than the event
itself.

Today, Rob and Marcy ask your help in voting for their story on a Pigeon Forge
vacation site. Each month, the amount they can win gets larger. So far, they
have won the lower contests, but today they are #7 in voting for a $6,600 award,
given to the top 5 vote getters.

It doesn't cost you a penny to vote, but your DAILY votes could boost them up to
5th place and beyond. There are only a few days left for voting daily in June.
Please do so and help this wonderful family win some more money.

I voted! What a sad story - my mom's best friend was diagnosed with ALS in April 2009. She is already wheelchair bound and is losing her speech. IT is a horrible disease.

What rescue did Marcy start, by the way? I am in Nashville.

But it is worth it to read the site!
