Is she an only child? If so, I can relate! I think I drove my parents crazy!! LOL! I always had pets but always wanted entertained.:)

Only child at home.  Lexi is 7 and our other DD is 32.  We live in the country, have dogs, a pool, swingset, getting a trampoline, crafts and a room full of toys.  I guess it's just not that fun, lol.

Here was my Mom's solution to that ....... C H O R E S, lots and lots of C H O R E S.  We lived on a farm.  There were always chores.  How about CAMP ...... there are usually lots of fun summer camps around here.

GS camp registration came the other day, great idea.  We just started some easy chores.
I realize all these things cost money, but how about signing her up for a Dog training class with Clover or maybe a joint dance class (I remember those pink tutu's).

The training classes here requires her to be 8 so next year.  Are you talking about freestyle dancing with your dog?  At first I thought you were kidding until I looked it up.

well I was kidding, sort of, but it does exist (I think Joanne and Spud do it) .....
So glad you were kidding, because they both would get kicked out.  DD would be telling her "You're not doing it right" and Clover just follows her, lol.
Chores would definitely help. As the late, great Erma Bombeck put it, "Only a fool tells his mother he has nothing to do."
My mom was not good at giving us chores/delegating much.  So we were fools all summer long, every summer long...whining and complaining about nothing to do and imagining all the kids in our school having these AMAZING vacations while we were stuck at home.  The whole "MOMMMMM I"m BORED" was a frequent Adina whine.

Be glad I wasn't your mom. There's always something that needs to be vacuumed, dusted, wiped, polished, folded, put away, etc. To this day, my adult son can clean a bathroom better than anyone else I know!

Your mom is probably like mine...she didn't want anyone else to do the housework because they wouldn't do as good a job as she did. Consequently, my husband had to show me how to mop a floor when I was 25 years old.

Unfortunately for my kids, I am not that particular.

I learned that lesson the hard way.  Like you told Adina "there's always something that needs to be....".  My Mom always had something for me to do.
