Doodle me this - How are a labradoodle and goldendoodle different? Coats? Personality? size? I've been told by non-doodlers that the labradoodles are more mmmmmm "active" and the goldendoodles are more "laid back". Do you think that's true??
I really do not have a lot of experience with the doodles as much someone else, but I have to say I have noticed Bear has been becoming more of a couch potato these days as he nears his 1st birthday. I really do think it depends on the dog themselves as human families are.............I had 2 poodles with the same mom but different dads and they were total opposites.
I am new to the Doodle Breed. I can only share that she is not really independent. She always knows where I am. The bathroom, bed, kitchen, den - she is never more that a few feet away. At work, when she hasn't manipulated someone to play ball with her, she lays between my desk and the office door so she always knows when I move.
Samantha is an F1 LB - her coat is not soft and fluffy like the GD I have met.
She is loves to sleep late, takes a nice nap in the early afternoon but come 345pm and she becomes full of vim and vigor. A run in the dog park is essential for my nice, quiet evenings. If we miss it for any reason, my evening is spent playing ball in the backyard - no matter what the weather is.
Is she more Lab than Poodle? I don;t know
Has anyone noticed that labradoodles seem to have smaller feet than goldendoodles? I've also noticed that my GD & his GD buddies tend to have a square-er/blockier face & build than the LD's. Otherwise, the LD's & GD's I've met seem to have similar temperments: goofy to the point of almost clownish, happy-go-lucky, people pleasers, smart/quick to pick up new tricks/games, wrestlers, & avid swimmers.
