Disappearing Discussions

Discussions fly by in a twinkling lately and I for one think some of them are worth having around longer. And that refers not only to mine : ) Other discussions could disappear instantly and not be missed, no offense to most people intended. I would love to see the birthday area eliminated, who needs to be reminded of birthdays? Some of us think those come too often. So if the birthday area on the front page were eliminated the discussions would have a bigger piece of front page real estate and be visible longer.  After all, who needs to send birthday wishes to Banfield The Pet Hospital, as some did lately. I assume it's some bot that does this automatically.

If you want to remember particular friends birthdays you can use a service, which is free, to get emails beforehand.

It's really easy to never miss a discussion if you opt to be notified of any new discussions in whatever forums or groups you are interested in. You don't have to be here on DK to see them.

I don't think I get notifications of new front page discussions though, only those on groups in which I have opted to do so. At the rate discussions are going you could miss one entirely if, heaven forbid, you took a day off of DK or didn't religiously scan the frontpage backwards if you get my meaning.

I get a notification of every single new discussion, and I don't even have to come to DK to see them or read them. All there in my email, and if I don't delete the message, they're there when I have time to come on DK, and I don't have to search for them, the link in the email takes me right to them. I never scan the front page ever.

I just reviewed the settings on my page. I saw nothing about discussions on the main page and I do not get notified of them.

I know, because recently I killed it all because my email gets 5,000 a month and I'm going mad ( not all from DK)

But I did go on an email diet
