RE: the email address that DK assigns to each member

what does it do? If I email to that address, where would I find the email?

i just looked at that under edit my profile. It seems to me it's only to allow you to add photos and videos, to your page probably, to DK. Not like a regular email address to communicate with someone. You could try it and seeif it works but it seems way too high tech and complex for me.

I emailed myself a picture to my DK address. I can't find it. HELP!!

It should show up in your Dk mail. I use my DK email for sending cell photos here all the time. Did you know you can somewhat pick your email name as well.

Adrianne, I just did it. I went to my email and addressed a message to the DK email I had on my profile page. I attached a picture and Voila! If I realized it would appear on the main page I would have written a more intelligent message and a better picture, but it works.

Yep it works for me too..but that's about all that 'email' does. You can't write to people from it or to others ... I don't think.If you do it goes to outer space.

If I want to contact an individual member for their e-mail or home mailing address how do I do it? Is there a way we can communicate without everyone seeing the information?

You can use the send a message on their home page if they have that-under the profile picture area. You could do a private chat--sometimes you can let them know you're doing that in the "What's on my mind". those things are private.

If they are 'your friend' you can send a message that no one, including anyone with admin rights, can see. That is all private. Everything else can be seen by any member.

I think that it's primarily for uploading pictures/video from your cell phone. I emailed some pictures from my phone to my DK address and they went straight to the slideshow on my page.
