Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I tried searching for a topic on this, but couldn't find one.  Update:  thx to Karen, found one and it seems it could be a viral growth.  I am taking her to the vet this afternoon at 5pm because:

Peri was smiling this morning and noticed that when her bottom lip parted, she has a small white mark on her lip.  You can't see it when her lips are closed.  It is like a little pinhead size bump...like a cold sore on a human.  But white and raised.  Even like a pimple.  Doesn't seem to bother her - has anyone else seen anything like this on their dood?  Before I flip out and take her to the vet, DH told me "why don't you go on that doodle website and ask about this".  HA!

Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Update: It is viral papalloma. $48 vet visit told me that there is nothing to worry about and it is almost a "rite of passage" and puppies in daycare frequently get them but they will go away. Taquito should be fine since he is older. No medicine, nothing!
And she weighs a wopping 24 pounds now. Wow.

Well I had to get DH to take her to vet. Hope he asks all the right questions. I am too swamped at work.
But I promise to update all after.
Of course I am a little worried because I haven't had the best doggy luck lately :( And for now, Taquito is okay...save the occasional throwup flairup.
See my update above. It is viral papalloma. No medicine...vet not worried. So I don't worry! Woohooo! I will keep an eye on them, but vet told DH to not panic if some more came up.
Thanks for everyone's help. I didn't do the right search for help on this. But I added some new tags so others in the future can get help.
I'm glad it's nothing serious. I'm sure you feel it's worth the $ to know for sure what it is and that it doesn't need treatment. If Jack got the same thing tomorrow, I'd go to the vet anyway, just to be sure!
Glad it's nothing serious! Did the Vet say how long it takes to go away?
They said a few weeks. She also has a huge one inside her mouth. DH has seen it but I don't want to look!!
They also said not to worry about taking her to daycare. Said I could take off this week if I wanted, but it didn't really matter. Vet also said she could get more, but not to worry unless her eating habits change or we notice anything out of the ordinary.

BTW they said we should always bring in our dogs for stuff going on in the mouth. Apparently they have seen a large rise in mouth cancer (even in young dogs). They have a theory that it is because of poor quality dog food and crap from china. Interesting...
I know of two young doodles (about 2 years old) here on DK alone who had oral growths requiring surgery, and one of them was cancerous. Oral cancers are especially common in Golden Retrievers. So I agree, any kind of lump, bump, or growth should be seen by a vet.
I'm so glad Peri's ok!!!!
Gracie had it too. I think I did a discussion in medical issues. The doc removed hers (cauterized like a wart). I was afraid hers would get torn off and bleed. It got pretty big. No repurcussions since. Also, FYI, no other dogs at daycare came down with it.
Good news. 24lbs...you go girl.
Boy are Ellie and Peri alike. I just looked at Ellie's bottom lip and found the white bump. I'm going to call my vet tomorrow but I'm glad that Peri is okay.

Now I'm going to look inside the mouth...
