Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I spoke with a friend today who has a Goldendoodle who is going to be 3 years old in December. She asked me if Gracie Doodle was going through a sort of "independent" stage where she sort of ignores you and doesn't do what you ask. I told her yes!! She said she had heard they go through the terrible 3s. Gracie won't be 3 until May but it could be starting early. Her Doodle is doing the same thing. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is this a normal Doodle thing and does it go away?

Oh Nancie, Graciedoodle is perfect to me - especially compared to Notorious Ned! We are still waiting for the wonderful abatement of wastebasket foraging. Then perhaps we could have a terrible twos or threes.
I have a feeling most dogs probably go through stages or periods of independence or testing here and there. Don't think it's a specific age for all and it probably cycles until they are more mature.
Hey, you are still around. No Wiggle Worm yet...huh? I hope it is just a cycle with Gracie. She is such a sweet good natured girl but lately she has become aloof and at times "flips me off" so to speak! It seems it has been since the time change. Her afternoons are not the same because of the dark coming so early. Her cousin Luna Paw is coming for Thanksgiving so I hope that perks her up! Keep us posted on the little one! Good luck!
Yankee is only 2 but at times he has such an attitude and totally ignores me. I agree that it isn't a particular age, it's whenever the dog decides to test you.
