Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hello,
My name is Soon, and I just joined today this site.
This is my first doodle after I lost my 14 yo miniature poodle Fluffy, and I got F2 doodle instead of an F1.
My puppy is lovely but everyone asks me if it's a Golden retriever - even my vet and groomer. Is she going to remain with straight hair in the future? She's 9 weeks old right now.
I don't mind straight hair, but I'm just wondering what she will look like.
Thank you

Welcome to Doodle Kisses. With an F2, I guess you have a 50/50 chance she will doodle out. With a mixed breed you never know which half she will take after. She is adorable though. There is a group here http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/wheresthepoodleinmydoodle that you may be interested in. It is fun to look at the pictures and see how much some of those retriever looking puppies did doodle out as adults. Sorry about your poodle. It is so hard to lose a family pet.
Hi Soon! F2s are tricky. I remember reading that F2 breedings can result in pups that look like 100% goldens, 100% poodles, or doodles - even though you would think you would get a pup looking like a combination of the parents. However your new baby grows, she is absolutely adorable and has the sweetest face. What's her name?
I'm sorry that you lost Fluffy. Welcome to DK!
She has the prettiest profile. I love her snout.
This is the sweetest looking puppy! You should post these pictures in the from pup to adult group with the pictures of the mom and dad. I find the doodle outcomes amazing. It's a.most hard to believe. Several people have told us they are sure our pup did not come from the parents the breeder told us she did and we are being deceived. I just say no, you should see how it happens in the doodle world. It is part of the fun. It reminds me of the Forest Gump "life is like a box of chocolates and you never know what you are going to get", not exactly at least, philosophy. Our pup was one of 8 black pups born to a cream and cream and brown parti pairing. Yes, every single pup in the litter turned out black from those light parents. I think you will find some answers to your question by looking at pictures in that group. I will say our pup has become slighty more doodly over time.
