Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I am getting my new Goldendoodle puppy in 2 weeks and I was wondering if anyone could help me understand what his coat may be like? He is an F1 and his coat is pretty straight no signs of curling on his face or anywhere except the bottoms of his ears. He is very fluffy. My breeder said she thought he would be more wavy based on him being fluffy. When I have done reading on different coats I have never read that fluffy fur indicates anything. The other puppy I was considering has the same kind of coat, straight and no curls except on his ears, and she thought he would have a straighter coat then my puppy simply because of the fluff factor. Anyone know? Here is a picture of him at 8 weeks, and I also pasted a picture of what I hoping for in a adult coat for my puppy. Is that possible or will he likely have more waves?

I think your pup is going to look quite a lot like that picture with the coat you were hoping for. I don;t know if he will be wavier or not, and I don't think anyone can tell you that for certain. It really doesn't matter, he's darling and is going to look very "doodle-y".

"Fluffy" doesn't mean anything, to my knowledge.

Thanks! I hope he does have that coat, although I know we will adore this little puppy no matter the coat!

I don't know anything about predicting coats for puppies, but your puppy is adorable!

Your puppy is as cute as can be! The adult coat will be a fun revelation as months go by.
