You save on the water and electric bill - you just need the short cycle!
Never thought about that a paper shredder...why buy one when you have a doodle. Thanks for the laugh.
I love the moonlighter as a trash inspector!!!

Fenway has many jobs that she takes very seriously. She is the pre-washer for all dishes in the dishwasher and likes to inspect them to make sure they are clean too (she learned this from her labradoodle cousin), she likes to make sure that we are good and dry when we get out of the shower, and she is our vacuum cleaner after we eat (we actually put her on her blanket and make her stay while we eat and as soon as we give her the command to get up she comes right over and makes sure that we didn't get the floor dirty).
Fenway's cousin Duke shares some of these same jobs but he also helps carry in groceries (my Mom always saves a lighter bag for Duke to carry in), carries his own leash, and walks Fenway on the leash (he actually gets her to heel even better than I do). It's pretty comical to watch.
These doodles are something else!
Kelli,
I cannot believe Duke walks Fenway. Also, I need to teach Parris to carry in groceries. Too cute!!

Samantha has a very eclectic job description:
1. ball chaser
2. reminder of the flying leaves not to land near HER house
3. dinner chim - tells me when it's time to cook her dinner
4. tire guard - reminds other pooches no peeing on her car tires
5. office mascot
6. best friend
I think best friend is the BEST JOB of all!!!!!

Well I've only had Lizzie for a few days, but already she has her jobs around the house. First is yard inspector, she must make sure no leaves are in her play area! She sniffs the yard for any leaf invaders EVERY time we go outside. Also, she is very good and making sure the kitties don't wander around the house. They don't much like that she's taken up this occupation! And lastly is sock herder. She makes sure all the lost socks from the laundry are brought back to the group! :-)
Congrats on your new Lizzie!! I'm surprised she doesn't chew the socks , but only herds them.

Tesla is 13 weeks and works as my Dirty Laundry sorter. She checks several times a day to see if I have finally accidentally left the closet door open. Once inside she rushes to knock over the dirty clothes hamper and sort through the clothes looking for panties and bras. She carefully piles the items in the middle of the bathroom floor for further inspection. She's very serious about separating delicates out for washing.
Eddie, my older doodle, comes and sit very properly right next to me whenever Elmo, the younger doodle, is being bad. I'm not sure if Eddie's trying to alert me, or just let me know HE, the goody two shoes, is not misbehaving.

When my old dog, Pepper, was still around and very deaf, Eddie would bark once when the doorbell rang to alert Pepper, then go hide in the hall, while Pepper did her guard dog barking routine. The first time the doorbell rang after Pepper wasn't with us any more, Eddie barked, ran into the hall, and then ran back out in total bewilderment that no one had picked up on his cue. It was very sad!
