I was wondering if any of you give your doods vitamins, we know a couple of Cattle dog who's owners swear by them and my SIL gives their dogs a Fish Oil capsule every day.
What are your thoughts?

I am amazed when I hear dogs do this. I have to push the capsules down their "gullets" or they end up on the floor. The dogs can't seem to swallow them without help.
I know F! I thought for sure I would have to at least cover them in P-nut butter, but nope, they eat them right up.
Me, too. After 6 years, JD still fights me on every single pill. And he can tell the difference between generic meds from CVS and from the grocery store. He prefers CVS.
Ha, that boy! It's not that they mind them, they try to chew them and they can't get purchase and the capsules roll out.
Wow Jared. I did not know your dog was so sick. So sorry and I hope Ozzy recovers very soon. Poor dog.
Well, I need more calcium now then I did when I was 40. The body's requirements for certain nutients increases or decreases with age. And some of us need more of certain nutrients than others, because of our own particular physiology and state of health. I have very small bones and a slender build, so I am more at risk for bone fractures than another woman my age who is bigger boned or heavier. So it's possible that at 9 years of age, Ozzy needs more calcium than he can get from his food, even though it's a good food.
Thanks Ladies for the Primrose Oil tip. I put it in Daisy's dish and it's gone every time., she doesn't even notice it was in there.Unlike my previous dog who could uncover a peanut butter laden pill...it was always left on the floor or his dish, little PITB. LOL
