So... are there any other dogs out there who don't mark their territory?
Luna is the only dog I know who doesn't mark at all. She pees 3-4 times a day and that's it. We'll go for an hour long walk and she just pees at the start (it's a LONG pee!) and then just enjoys the rest of her walk. She's generally a very submissive dog and will expose her belly for any dog, even small puppies (except her best friends, it's instant play fighting with them).
Her friends (who are generally more dominant) pee at least 3-4 times per walk when we walk with them.
I'm just curious :)

Generally a male thing but the worst marker I've met was female. She used to walk right over, lift her leg, then pee on Spud's head. Awful. She also did this on the wall, on a cat's head, rugs, etc
Luna has a bunch of doggie friends - most are female and they all mark. It's kind of funny to see if one of them pees, the others rush over to pee on top of it lol.
JD marks constantly when we are on a walk.
But so did my female poodle. :)
Fudge sounds like Luna. She almost always just goes once on our walk, right at the beginning, but she is a fierce back kicker when she is done :) Vern always marks over her spot when she is finished and marks on our walks. The one time he tried to back kick he tripped himself.
Oh Vern, you are a riot :) Luna almost never back kicks, she just wags and trots away.
Vern, you are such an endearing soul.
Vern, You have other wonderful qualities. No one is good at everything.
Ned and Gordie squat to pee, but when Ned was about 4 1/2 and Gordie about 9, they started to pee over another dog's pee or mark on a flat grassy area. Perhaps they are slow learners, especially Gordie! :-} Ned and Clancy will back kick, but Gordie never.
Sawyer is such a sophisticated doodle. Congrats.
