So... are there any other dogs out there who don't mark their territory?

Luna is the only dog I know who doesn't mark at all.  She pees 3-4 times a day and that's it.  We'll go for an hour long walk and she just pees at the start (it's a LONG pee!) and then just enjoys the rest of her walk.  She's generally a very submissive dog and will expose her belly for any dog, even small puppies (except her best friends, it's instant play fighting with them).

Her friends (who are generally more dominant) pee at least 3-4 times per walk when we walk with them.

I'm just curious :)

How funny!  I have a houseful of boys (6 males) and only 2 females. The worst "marker" that I have is my alpha bitch dachshund (Phoebe). She covers up EVERYONE's pees.  My doodles - both male - don't mark at all. They pee when necessary and that is it.  Everyone of the others will mark - just not as much as Phoebe does.

I know this is a late comment but just wanted to say this thread was so helpful. We moved 4 weeks ago and I noticed some new behaviors in Riley's potty ritual. I was concerned it was UTI but I think she is starting to mark her new territory based on your comments. She will do her normal long pee but then periodically we walk further, she sniffs something and hunches over in an unusual way trying to pee again. Usually nothing left but I think she is trying to mark. I've even noticed a couple times that she has back kicked which she absolutely never did before. Hopefully she'll settle in soon.
