One of Gavin’s “aunts” gifted him a lovely new dog bed.  It goes very nicely with our living room décor.  His old bed has seen better days, but we know he loves it, so we put it in the back bedroom for him to enjoy out of the sight of visitors.  Gavin is often torn.  He likes to be on the old bed, but he wants to be with the people.  He has decided to take matters into his own paws so moves the bed out of the back bedroom, down the hallway to the living room.  Today he was satisfied just to get it part way through the living room entryway (where he could keep an eye on everyone), but often he carries it right into the room and places overtop of the new bed.  When he lies down he looks like the princess and the pea.  Anyone else have a good problem solver?

That old bed looks might good. Some of the old beds around here were might shabby. But I have no beds downstairs except for in crates. I must be mean. Two doodles with two upstairs beds and one upstairs crate and two downstairs crates. I need to get some more beds so that I won't be able to walk around at all : )

F, where did you ever get the idea that with 2 doodles you'd be able to walk around :)

I say, we all need to start a petition.  This is outrageous!  I'm protesting

About L and C? Okay. To whom will you send it.

Gavin is so smart. Lily pulls all her blankets and her teddy from her crate each morning and puts them on her bed in the living room. I don't care how it looks. She is happy with her things. LOL

Lily is so cute. Fudge used to bring her cuddle dog out of her crate every morning and carry it around.

I thought Vern was Fudge's cuddle dog!

We need a picture of Lily and her things!

Love it! The old bed does look fluffier and bigger too. I don't blame the poor guy. :-)

Harpo is trying to train my DH to give him a treat when he brings a toy.  His morning job is to get the newspaper and he knows he gets a treat when he brings the paper in and gives it to my DH.  Lately, he has been exchanging the paper for a toy and brings the toy for his treat.  So far, it hasn't worked and he has to go back and get the paper but he keeps trying.

Harpo is one talented dog!  Fetching the paper is good work!

OMD...I love this story about Gavin. We all have those things we cannot part with in life, and for Gavin, it is his bed. I say put a cover on his old bed and keep it where the action happens to be :)  We have blankets on all the old dog beds, mainly because Vern loves to dig and get the blanket just right before he lays down. The old bed probably molds to his body better.
