Our freshly mowed backyard always sticks to my doodle's paws and dirties up the house with grass. How does everyone deal with this? Should I get her some booties? Which ones?

My doodle Sasha's paws turn green after I cut the lawn but the grass really does not stick to them that much.  Do you use the grass catcher on the lawn mower?  that helps cut down on the grass clippings coming in the house.  At times I have also had a bucket by my back door and would was everyone's paws as they came in.  I like clean floors too :)

We keep an old towel by the back door and wipe wet and dirty paws when our dog comes inside.

We trained Myla with treats to lay down on the mat as soon as she came in and to stay there until we told her she could leave it  (about 10-15 minutes). We found this the best as she loves playing outside and in the winter her paws were to wet and in the spring, just way to muddy.  She can see us as she lays there and if I do happen to forget to tell her to come, she will make noises (like a big yawn) to remind me!  She's hilarious!

Let her play! A dirty dog is a happy dog. Use a gentle wash to rinse off the grass. Booties sound extreme, unless if course, allergies play a part here. For you or the dog.
Honestly, I'll take grass than mud ANYDAY!!!

I gave up and just sweep up after them.  Joanne said it all - a dirty dog is a happy dog.

Too true.

When Jack used to go to daycare when I worked.. Whenever I would pick him up especially when he was a puppy.. He was so dirty.. mud stuck to his fur, pine straw sticking out of everywhere and they would always apologize... I always always said I dirty dog is a happy dog and knew he had so much fun!!!! However, as soon as he got home, in the tub he went before his floors touched my carpet and while I was exhausted after working all day and the last thing I wanted to do was give a bath.... I was happy to know he  had fun

I have a brand new paw plunger that I would be happy to mail to you if you PM me your address, you can dunk your doodles paws in there and get them clean.... It would be my pleasure...

We just wipe Luna's paws with a towel we keep by the back door.  My husband and I are both allergic to grass so we try to make sure she doesn't bring too much into the house :p  We also rake the grass and put it in a leaf bag as soon as the lawn is cut.

But I'd think you are allergic to the pollen so if the grass doesn't go to seed you should be OK.

I'm not sure, my allergies seem to flare up anytime I'm near freshly cut grass.  It's pretty weird!

Yup.

We use a small towel to wipe their paws and it does help.  Other than that, vacuum....
