Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

AA couple days ago I took Webster and Charlotte down to my mom's house.  I put them in the backyard not realizing that it was already occupied by other curly haired residents, my mom's alpacas.  The alpacas don't like dogs, especially the mama alpacas with their babies.  They will usually avoid or even run off a dog - especially a dog they don't know.  Webster and Charlotte had never been in with the alpacas (they are usually in the pasture - not the backyard), so I fully expected the "girls" to be bothered by my dogs.  To my amazement, they accepted my dogs without blinking - even allowing them to sniff their butts and run around with the babies.  I really think that this is because alpacas are sight animals and my doodles looked like alpacas.

Did you know THEY were here?  I thought this was the DOG yard.....

Is that good?  Will you share?  Mrs. Alpaca, is there enough for us?

You fetch sticks too?  Cool!

Please post pictures of your dogs (doesn't have to be just doodles) and their non-canine friends.

We took 3 alpacas to the county fair in the back of our fullsize van (did I mention I'm the unpaid farm hand?).  We got lots of funny looks when we would load and unload but the most fun was going through the McDonalds drive-thru :-)
I'm lovin these pics.  Would your Mom consider adopting me!
She is always looking for people to help with the animals.  We are shearing next week - when can you be here?
I love these pictures.  Hoping to find some of Woody (lab) and Apache (mini horse) they grew up together and were best friends.  Apache thought he was a dog for the first 4 years of his life until he met another horse.  These two would chase each other in the pasture, eat each others food if I would let them and takes naps in the sun.
Oh yes, I hope you find some pics - I'd love to see that!

These are the only ones I have left after the fire.  The first one is Woody talking to Apache, they would do this back and forth.  Second one shows them poking the other one with his nose.  Last one is the chase.  They would take turns chasing each other.

So SO CUTE!!!
I love these pictures!  Apache didn't teach Woody to hunt snakes, did he? Maybe that was what all the conversations were about :-)

Yes, Woody is the original snake hunter.  I'm sure they had lots of conversations about them, since it was one of his favorite things to do.  Apache never caught a snake, but Woody did try to share them.

WOW it's hard to tell a doodle butt from an alpaca butt!!!

Very cool!

I would love to have an Alpaca Farm also....in my next life...

Very cool pictures. The second one is my favorite also.
Love the second picture! So beautiful.
