Door mats both in and out

I am looking for an outside door mat that isn't too rough on doodle paws but that actually would pick up some dirt, mud, leaves, twigs etc. as they come in. I have a doggie door so the boys come and go as they want. I have a rug on the inside also and have found that rubber backing with some pile is pretty good, however a bathroom looking one isn't too attractive in my den.
