Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi all,  I had problems earlier with my introduction, this text box was not showing up and now it is, so I will RE-introduce myself.  I am Denise and I live in Southeast PA (near Philly), I have two Doodles, one cream-colored Golden Doodle (Daisy) who just turned 2, and (Sophie) a black Berne Doodle who just turned 8 months. I have to say the personality of a Berne Doodle is definitely different than a golden or labradoodle, Sophie is WAY more laid back, she has more of the poodly look, but the personality of a Bernese Mt Dg, it's really quite hiliarious, I've never seen anything like it, although she does get all hyped up when playing with Daisy, but when she isn't doing that she is like a 70s flower child :-)  She had gotten her first trim a couple of weeks ago and you really couldn't tell what kind of dog she was before that, but now that she is trimmed you can see the poodle in her.  We got her at 12 weeks and never ever has she nipped or mouthed, she does, however, chew on small items if you leave them around :-), she has more of a stocky body than Daisy (who has the regal poodle persona with extreme agility skills) Sophie on the other hand is kind of lazy and not as coordinated, I worried about that at first until the vet said, TYPICAL Bernese Mt. Dog behavior and she laughed.  I've been enjoying reading everyone's puppy experiences, their all so different, but very comforting to be reminded that "their PUPPIES" and it will pass :-)  Sophie is just now getting spayed on Oct 29, I'm a bit stressed about that, Daisy had a rough time when she had it, the anesthesia just made her sick, I had a golden retriever back in the day who had no issues whatsoever, so I hope Sophie doesn't suffer too badly, you feel so bad for them, I am taking off the next day to stay with her, poor baby............Anyway, hello to you all and thanks for having me!

Is it just me, or is this thread blank?

Yes I somehow hit the post button before I wrote my introduction, I have just become a member an am new to posting, sorry about that.  So hello to all you lucky Doodle owners out there, I have two Doodles (Daisy who is about to turn 2 in (3) days - she is a golden doodle) and (Sophie who is 7 months - she is a Berne Doodle).  I have never heard of a doodle until last year when Daisy was left behind from her first family at 10 months old, then we turned around and got the baby (Sophie) when she was 12 weeks, I have NEVER had to dogs before, only one at a time, I am so tired, but it is a good tired,  I am the parent also of only one child so this is a challenge for me :-)  My heart was not ready for another dog (I thought) after my golden retriever passed away 6 years ago, but I literally tuned out the joy that comes into your life having that little smiling face to come home to every day, my home is literally lit up again after 6 years.  I am enjoying so much in hearing all of your stories and look forward to sharing and getting advice from you all, thanks for having me!

Denise, you can edit your discussion to add what you wanted to. There should be a button at the top of your discussion that says 'options' click on that and in the drop down choose 'edit', then just copy and paste your above reply into the discussion and click save.

BTW Welcome to DK, so happy to hear that you have found a new love to light up your life. :>)

Thanks Donna, this was my problem before, I saw the box to enter the discussion title, but did not see a box to type the intro in, I just now clicked on options and then edit discussion and again do not see a text box to copy and paste, I'm really embarrassed, I'm usually pretty computer savvy, the only place I could see to add text is the discussion title, HELP! :-)

There should be a large white box underneath the discussion title. What device are you using to post?

Well I actually post here at work and they do have pretty heavy firewalls and restrictions here, the only box that shows up are these reply boxes, I will go on at home and see if that is the issue.
