double notifications

Why do I get double emails whenever someone posts on my groups?
I must have something on my "settings" but can't find anything wrong.
I just have checked in my settings to alert me when someone posts in my groups.
What I get are two emails (the same)....one states Jane replied to THE discussion
and the next states Jane replied to YOUR discussion.

I've stopped following for awhile because my inbox was being flooded by this.  Can anyone suggest or recommend how to fix my issue?  THANKS.

Are you sure the the notifications you're getting are for the same post? When it says "Jane replied to YOUR discussion", that only happens when a post was made in a discussion that you personally started. Otherwise, when it says "Jane replied to THE discussion", that's a discussion that someone else started and you posted in. It's possible that "Jane" posted in two or more discussions in the same group, and you're being notified of each separate post. The only way to know would be to click the link and look at the post.

Can you forward these emails to me at [e-mail] ? 

Also have you considered switching to the daily digest email instead of having all notifications come as individual emails?  That might help too.

Thanks for the assistance.  @Karen - it's wierd because the posts coming through as "your" discussion are NOT ones that I started.  Just ones I'm following.  I'm confused and frustrated so I'll try the daily digest format and see how that goes.

I get duplicate emails to groups that I subscribe to as well.  It is not consistent though and doesn't happen to all of the groups I subscribe to.  I haven't been able to figure out why this happens, very strange.  They are definitely the same email twice in my inbox though.
