Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

These 8 10-week-old labradoodle puppies were relinquished to DRC volunteer and rescue partner Elizabeth Gunn of Gunn Dogs Rescue by a BYB in Arkansas. The DRC and Gunn Dogs are collectively caring for them.

There are 3 chocolate girls and 5 boys, chocolate and black.

These babies are severely malnourished, flea and worm infested, have various skin conditions, eye and ear infections, diarrhea, and giardia. They have never seen a vet
(Their parents also have never been seen by a vet. Gunn Dogs and the DRC were unable to negotiate the release of the parents with this "breeder".)

These puppies were starving, dehydrated and lethargic when they arrived. Initial vetting indicates that they are Parvo free but they need to be closely monitored for symptoms over the next few weeks and fecal tests will need to be repeated with or without presentation of symptoms. They all required sub-cutaneous fluids and they are being treated for all the various infections along with the worms and giardia. Elizabeth is also providing them with electrolyte supplements and high calorie puppy food.

We are in the process of finding suitable fosters/care-givers. Needless to say, the task ahead of us is huge, but I have no doubt that the day will come when all of us here will smile at photos of 8 healthy, beautiful doodle puppies, going to their loving forever homes.
We need your help to make that day a reality.

Please make a donation to the DRC on behalf of the Arkansas Puppies. Any amount will help so much. And thank you, DK Family, for your generous and caring hearts, from the bottom of mine.
The puppies thank you, too!

It's fine - I have gotten that before.....they do it because they are so busy and unfortunately, they probably get more adoption applications via email vs. donations.
LOL- like 100 to 1
Is there a way to get the Chip In Box so we can put it on a Facebook page? Hunter has her own Facebook page with over 400 other doodles and dogs as her friends (quit laughing at me!). I really want to repost somehow for more donations. Anyone have any ideas? This is just completely heart breaking.
Denise, thank you so much for wanting to do that! I'll send you the copy for the link, you should be able to just copy & paste it.
I think I was able to post it :-) I will keep reposting so it stays current for everyone on there.
Allie too - Allie has 600 friends! Karen - can you send it to me?
Send me your facebook link so Callie and I can friend you!
That would be great! Its - http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/profile.php?id=100000476169888
Hunter Lizzy Lou Doodle :-) She loves having friends she updates her status a lot too - LOL LOL
You know, we still have to name these guys. Any ideas? I keep trying to think of famous groups of eight. What about Santa's Reindeer?
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen
Not too crazy about Blitzen, maybe it could be "Blitz".
I really like those, Karen! Also, Peri's breeder has used themes like baseball team names, books of the Bible, American Idol winners (or the well-known ones). I know this because I still stalk her website LOL

How about the kids from Jon/Kate? Just kidding....
I could only come up with the kids on "Eight is Enough" and the eight baseball players from Eight Men Out. That could be kind of cute, though no one would really know who they are, except for Shoeless Joe. :) Those names would work for girls too, since there's a Chick and Happy in there...

Eddie
Happy
Chick
Joe
Fred
Buck
Lefty
Charles/Charlie
We thought of the Eight is Enough kids, but too many girls. I was also thinking of the planets- there are eight minus Earth- but I am NOT calling a puppy "Uranus", lol!
The reindeer names are kind of cute- and it's Christmas in July for these guys, thanks to everyone's generosity!
