After dealing with another medical issue with Sydney are we the right Doodle Moms? As I sit here with tears in my eyes, I ask, Have any of you had second thoughts about having brought your Doodles into your homes? Well, we have......both Kathy and I have had conversations many, many times about Sydney our first Doodle......As tears stream from my eyes, I must share with you that Sydney was not what each of you know what a Doodle would look like as you brought each of your Doodles into your homes. We have been disappointed not only with how Sydney looks, but the fact that she sheds and most importantly, that she has had lots of medical issues from the time she was a puppy. We grew up with that "guilty complex" that keeps us fom what others would find easier to do what suits their lifestyle. I know that resentment towards our breeder is not the answer. Perhaps finding out what the "Reason for our having our "SYDNEY" may be the answer some day. All of you on DK cannot probably relate to our feelings since we see how your expectations have been met. We are wondering what is the real reason to have Sydney in our lifes?
Sydney needs your love. Many families adopt children for the fact of love. Your expectations seem to have been dashed but what else could you do? Rehome? Shelter? your house? what is the best option for you. If you truly seem to be unhappy i would suggest to try to find some that would love him just as you do. Guilt is built to stifle you. Break through this a make a firm decision. From the outside looking in, I think you truly love Sydney and a wonderful Doodle parent. We are all with you in this.
I think you hit it on the head when you said you needed patience. I remember a time in my life when my daughter was in a coma and all the doctors could say was wait and see. It wasn't days or even weeks but months and months later when I could finally see some hope and a glimpse of life that would be manageable. Sydney is obviously in need of lots and lots of care which you and your sister are certainly providing for her. It is patience you need and that is what I will pray that you get.
Sydney will be seeing an Internal Specialist this afternoon. We hope and pray for some answers and hopefully get Sydney comfortable and feeling better. Thanks to all for your well wishes!
Thanks to all for your prayers and best wishes for Sydney. Sydney was with the specialist for 2 hours this afternoon, much longer than she was with our Vet each day for the past 8 days. They ran some tests with immediate results which came back negative, she had an internal and was with three different Doctors. Sydney went through the mill and is now sleeping. They checked for Lime Disease and other diseases we were not familiar with. We were advised to keep her on the meds (a little different RX for another couple of weeks) and keep in touch with the Specialist. It seems Sydney is still going through some severe reaction to something that cannot be identified. Nothing changed in our household other than bully sticks which we gave her 10 days ago. Once again, thanks to all. We are keeping a close watch on our Sydney Girl and giving her lots and lots of love!
