I found this ad today on the local Craigslist!!! So sad!!  :(

 

I don't really have a desirable car that people would WANT to steal but I didn't know that VW Beetles were either!!! We don't leave Tara alone in the car at stores even for a minute!!

 

Hope he finds his way home soon!!

They are offering a reward and seem to care less about the car, they just want the furkid back.  One interesting point though is that in the first post they called him a Labra-Doodle and in this one a Goldendoodle?? WTD?? Maybe they did it to cover all the search options?

I can't figure out what could be gained by a hoax like this? I checked the stolen vehicle reports too but they are only current to 11/13. This car was supposedly taken the 15th so it wouldn't show up until next week's report.

I have a very evil mind, lol. I'm imagining someone who got rid of his girlfriend's dog and then said the whole car was stolen as an excuse, something like that. Later on, the car conveniently turns up a few miles away, sans doodle. I've heard of stranger things.

I felt the same thing Karen......but didn't do the search....great idea! It just doesn't ring true at all to me.

I think it IS true. But I am an optimist and believe MOST people are good. .... didn't we have this conversation before ... when the man's dog got lost on July 4th. He turned out to be a good guy who lost his dog and was happy with its return.

I'm thinking this too, will have a good ending.

I sent an email to them with a link to the Doodle Messenger Lost and Found Doodles page. It has some good information about what to do if your dog is lost, stolen, etc.

I'm sure there are other good sites too that offer insturuction about what to do in such a situation.

I haven't had any response from them.

So sad. Any updates? Has anyone written the craiglist email link. I will now if it has not already been done. I'll invite the owners here to join DK. Maybe we can be of more help to them.

I leave my dogs in the car. Spud looks harmless. He is NOT harmless if someone approaches the car. I don't know if it is his age, or because Starlit is in the car ( she lays on the floor) but we have had to ask people NOT to stick there hands inside the window crack at the cute fluffy white dog.

I take mine when ever I can and yes many times they have to wait a few moments or ten minutes until I return.
