Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi everyone,
Did any of your dogs ever pee when they seemed to be excited? Molly has to go out very often, so we figured she had a bladder infection. It turns out we were right, and she's now on her second round of Clavamox. (She also has vaginitis, which the vet says is a contributing factor.) She still has to go out pretty often (she's 4 1/2 months old), but it seems like it has helped a bit. However, when we first come home, even if we've only been gone an hour or two, she starts to drizzle when she sees us. And this is just in seconds because we take her out as soon as we get home. Or, if we're trying to get her outside right away when we're at our condo and a neighbor is out and tries to pet her before we get down to the grass, she will "leak" on the walkway! Talk about doodle signs. I want one that says "Back off of the dog until she has peed!"
So do you all think this is tied to the bladder infection (she was also diagnosed with vaginitis), or is this a bigger problem that she might always have? Please, please say it's the first. :-)
I look forward to your wisdom and experience.

Sedona was a big-time happy pee'r - no bladder problems or urinary tract infection at all - just a lot of sprinkling when she was excited. Fortunately, she's grown out of it. It got better sometime before a year, and now (at nearly 2) I can't remember the last time she greeted us with a sprinkle :)
However, with Molly's history of infection, it's wise to keep an extra close eye on her. Good luck!
