Starting yesterday morning, my doodle has had yellowish discharge coming from both eyes. It is not running constantly but definitely there. I notice it most when she wakes up from sleep. Today is day 2 with discharge. Her eyes are not puffy or irritated. She is not itching them either. I have been wiping them with warm paper towel. I read it could be allergies. Any suggestions before running to vet?

We we went through this when Snickers was about a year old. The vet prescribed eye ointment which IS NOT fun as you have to put it on their eye. But after using it for 10 days it cleared up and he has not had a problem since.

How did the vet go today?

Hi all! Bacterial Conjuntovitus for little Maizy! Poor girl, swollen, red eyes! We got drops for her eyes? 3x daily for a week. Should clear up withi. 2 days. Vet couldn't give me a clear explanation how she might have gotten it... Oh well. Thank you all for your concern!

Bacterial conjunctivitis is very contagious but it's hard to say exactly where it is picked up. I'm glad Maizy is getting treated. Make sure you do the whole week.

woo hoo! F knows best!

I'm glad you went to the vet and that it's something easily treated.
