Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi, we are going to visit a breeder in Bealeton, VA on Saturday to consider an F1B goldendoodle but are also considering an F1 goldendoodle from another local breeder in VA. We are thinking the F1B is the way to go as shedding is a concern for us but really want to keep more of the golden look and are struggling with our decision. According to the breeder the F1B has more of a wavy coat and should look similar to an F1 with the benefit of the non-shed. The breeder is Frank Reinhardt if anyone has purchased a dog from them. We have not visited him yet but he sounds honest and says all the right things on the phone but you never know. We are requesting references now of our doodle families. Anything thoughts on these would be appreciated!

Hi,
Just wondering if you even got a dog from this breeder?
Thank you
I am just seeing this. I have a doodle dude from Frank. He is 6 years old. My son and I went to the farm and selected him. Frank had some poor business sense, but showed us the farm and all of his animals. Our dog is the best dog we have ever had. Not sure if things have changed over the years. I do know that the price has gone up. I paid $ 600 for my boy at the time, because he wasn't perfect (he had a bald spot on his undercarriage). I do think there are things I would be cautious of if I were to visit the farm again...request to see the female (mother), as Frank had her off site at their breeding facility which is a drive down the road. Request more documentation on the pup. I received a paper that did not denote the name of either parent. Request shot records. Is he backyard breeder? I don't think so. I think he is a farmer that loves dogs. He does rotate his studs and females out. Just be smart when getting a pup.
Hi, I just found this DK site this week - I was looking to connect with others with a F1b like mine - one that looks totally like a golden retriever! :) I noticed your discussion about the breeder, Frank, in Bealeton, VA. That is the breeder where we purchased our F1b, Cali. Her disposition is WONDERFUL. We love her. She is shedding some though, and really looks like a golden retriever, which is fascinating since she is a F1b! I love Cali's size too. She is about 40 lbs at 11 months. We wanted the smaller size without going the "mini" route. I would love to touch base with you more to hear if you decided to go with this breeder and find out your experience. I'm also happy to share more about my experience with them and why we decided to go with them if you're still interested in hearing more?

There's a group called, Where's the Poodle in my Doodle, that you might want to join.
Please call me. I will love to speak with you before I make my purchase from Frank. 210-857-0100

We also have a dog from this breeder. SHe is the best dog ever, and I can't imagine not having her as part of our family. but now that I am more educated about breeders, I might not go this way again. Rehfield, I requested to friend you so I could give you more info.
