Finnegan is a dog who was rescued from a puppy mill by the DRC. He is owned by DK member Helen Cummings. The story posted about him is that he was rescued from a puppy mill. While there his left foreleg slipped through the bottom of his crate and it was gnawed on by another dog. An infection ensued resulting in the amputation of his leg. You can see in pictures from the recent Sandy Hook romp that he is an active happy doodle now.

FINN'S SHELTER PICS

OUT OF THE SHELTER

FINN AT HOME WITH HELEN

What a beautiful dog! You all must be very proud!
He is just adorable. I remember reading his story on the DRC. I'm so happy he found the wonderful, loving home he deserves. He looks perfectly content.
It nearly broke my heart to let him go, but he needed to be adored. He would have here but as part of a pack. I felt he needed to be someone's "one and only." Now, he is. Helen is really wonderful with him, she takes him everywhere. He has even been in the local newspaper at a block party. Jacquie and I, heck everyone who meets him, falls in love with him. For the hell he lived through, he was the "perfect" dog when he was with me. I hope he lives a long and happy life.
I remember you being happy that he got a great home but sad to let him go. He had a really big impact on anyone who read his story, I think. Getting rescued by you guys was the beginning of that new loving home.
Yeah, when Jac & I went up to "that place" we couldn't leave him there. He came home with us then and we'll love him forever. He is our "Poster Boy" for why we do what we do.
This is such a wonderful story. Makes me very happy to see this followup - remember the post a few months ago about Finn.
What a wonderful story! Finnegan looks like such a sweet, happy boy, and quite a handsome doodle, too!
(I got a rabbit when I voted today)
