Update: Petplan received my claim on the 9th and sent my check back on the 9th! I received the appropriate amount of money on September 11. No questions asked, easy as can be. I upgraded to a 100 coinsurance with 90% reimbursement. I am very pleased!

My Crush ate grass and threw up twice on Thursday. My mom had been dog sitting and called to tell me, I thought she was doing it out of nervousness because I had been gone all day. On Friday morning she threw up a LOT all morning, so I took her to the vet. He recommended that I leave her there for the day. She had X-Rays, blood testing, and a stool sample-all came back normal, but racked up really quickly. She got medication to stop the vomiting and special food; she feels much better now. I was able to bring her home Friday night. The bill came out to $533, and I have a $200 deductible with 80% reimbursement. If all goes well with this claim I will upgrade to the $100 deductible with 90% reimbursement. I just wanted to share because I'm always curious how people's experiences are with their petplan claims. I sent out the claim form yesterday and will update when I hear back.

Hope Crush is feeling better now!  I will be interested to hear your update on how Pet Plan does as we have had it for a few years now and happily have not had to use it.

It went very well :)

I cannot imagine that it will be a problem.  I have had 10 claims on our Lucy and 9 claims on our Sophie and all have been paid exactly as I expected them to be.  No complaints.  It will take longer for the first one to be processed as they have to get everything from the beginning established.  Hopefully you sent along a copy of all the vet records and the handwritten notes with the claim.  If not that will make it take a little longer if they have to request them.   I have the $200 deductible with 100% pay and it has been a lifesaver for us.  My very first claim took around 3 weeks if I remember right.  Now they take about 1.5 - 2 weeks from the time I submit.  You know you can watch them on line right?

I didn't know that, thanks for telling me. I asked the vet to print out all of her medical records. They didn't have hand written notes so I called PetPlan and told them what I had printed out, he said I had everything. I knew about the notes from when I did my exclusion agreement but he didn't say anything about it. I hope if it's a problem it doesn't delay my claim too much :/

You've had a lot of claims! Your insurance has definitely been worth it.

Hope all goes well with your claim. Thankfully we haven't used ours, but it sure makes me feel better knowing that my doodles will be able to get the care they need. Glad Crush is doing better.

I'm glad Crush is feeling better!
