Flea and heart worm preventative RX

I want to get some input on what you are using and how you get it. Online or from your vet.
For now Yogi is taking heartgard only because fleas are not a concern yet. I want to decide what I'm going to use this spring. My vet recommended trifexis, but I've seen some negative news about this one, so what do you use for fleas and heart worms and how do you obtain it?

I have been using trifexi for the last 3 yrs, no problem here, thank goodness, but I couldn't use Frontline with Oliver he had terrible itching from it, not sure what caused it..I too only get my meds from my Vet.  According to him, alot of this stuff sold elsewhere is coming in from China, and just distributed here, or g-d knows from where else it can come from...
