If anyone knows, can I ask that you please post suggestions for where we can donate to dog and other animal rescue that we can be sure are legitimate and ethical and that will use donations wisely at this time of need following terrible Hurricane Harvey. Please add links and any info that you have. I gave to this one that was recommended to me by a friend.

St. Hubert's Animal Center of NJ took in more than 100 of the TX dogs displaced by Harvey and is coordinating their placement among other shelters and rescues. Here is an article explaining this: http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2017/08/nj_animal_shelter_to_accep...

Thanks so much for sharing this, Nicky!  It's so nice to see that people are not forgetting about the animals.  Our town has collected a truckload of donated dog, cat and horse food ready to head to TX.  It seems like there are many local rescues getting ready to place dogs in foster homes while waiting to see if the owners can be identified.
