Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi everyone!

This is my first post and I wish it was under other circumstances. Today we tried a new groomer due to recently moving to a new town. When we got him back he had multiple cuts from the clippers and from the groomer shaving almost down to bare skin on his snout. Sadly the groomer was extremely unprofessional, refused to admit the mistake and/or apologize calling myself and my boyfriend liars and scammers. Anyways, I am looking for any advice on how to best heal his nose. I got antibacterial spray, used that and let it dry... then used liquid bandaid spray (for dogs). He is often trying to rub it on the couch, blankets, anything that he can. Besides using the liquid bandaid spray are there any other recommendations? I want this to heal as soon as possible. Will antibiotics from the vet help? I do not want him to get an infection! :(

Please help!!!

So sorry to hear of your terrible experience at the groomers.  A cone might help so he can't get to it, I believe I might try that.

Hopefully the hair will grow back soon. They do grow out pretty quick.  Our groomer only uses scissors in that area and the private area too per our request on both Marley and Oliver. Best of luck. Hugs !

Thank you for your advice! He’s been doing a little better as far as not rubbing it on stuff! I will definitely make sure I request scissors in the future! :)

Awww. Poor baby.  I personally would call to complain to the owners of this place.  Perhaps they were the owners?  In the very least leave them a poor review on Yelp or something.  Terrible!  I would call the vet and ask what you should put on nose.  Also. Maybe you can post here for a recommendation for a groomer in your area.  Good luck!

She was the owner! Yikes! I did file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to get our money back and to also have her business looked into because after looking deeper into her yelp account there are a lot of fur babies that have been cut (SO WRONG). He seems to be healing a little faster than expected with the liquid bandaid!

Thanks for you suggestions! :)

I am so sorry you had this experience and what a horrible experience for your dog.  I definitely would not take him back there.  I have been using the same groomer for 7 years and not once has my doodle even had a scratch.  Is there someone in your area that can recommend a groomer to you that is experienced.  You might consider joining the DIY Grooming group facebook and learn to groom your own doodle.  Good luck and I hope your doodle heals quickly.

We did make a post on facebook asking for recommendations and got a lot of responses so we are going to try one of those! If not we'll go back to the old groomer! They're only a half hour away so if we need to it won't be too difficult! Thanks for your response! :)

I am so sorry about this whole incident.  I hope you didn't pay because the service sounds like it wasn't at all acceptable.  My groomer only scissor cuts my boys.

We did pay :( and was told no to a refund, however we are going through the Better Business Bureau to get it all settled! Thanks for your response! We are going to request only scissors to be used in the future!
