Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

What is the difference between posting in the "forum" vs posting in the "blogs"?  probably a dumb question, but I have not yet figured it out.

Forum is more for questions.  Blogs are more for sharing experiences.  It took me a while to figure out too.
Thanks for sharing, I figured it was a really stupid question, like something I should "just know".  I was hearing... "what an idiot!"

Forum is a catch-all.  Any topic or type of post is allowed in the forum.  Think of a community forum where you go to voice your thoughts, discuss, ask questions, etc.  When you have something you want to bring to the podium or need advice or just want to start a discussion or want audience participation. You can also just 'share' something in the forum.  When in doubt, post there.

Blog is short for 'web log' and on our site we limit it to non-question, non-discussion, non-advice seeking type posts ... sort of like an online journal or diary where you can share things when you don't need audience participation or answers or advice.  Of course fun blogs get lots of responses and that's fine.  On this site blogs are moderated so I have to approve them before they are published and when edits are made (not true for forum posts). You can also control when a blog is published and who can see and comment on it (not specifically but generally).

I greatly prefer discussions to blogs, which I've written about before, No need for approval, easier to reply to a specific person etc.
Do you mean you prefer the format? (not the content necessarily)?
Yes, the format. The content is on a case by case basis : )
I agree with you, F.  We all seem to reply to comments even in the blogs pretty often, and it's much easier to follow when you can place your response right under the individual post.
