I apologize if there is a different place for me to post this but I am trying to do this while I'm at work. I don't know if there have been any postings about them. I also can't get the following as hyperlink. I guess you could copy and paste to address bar.

If anyone sees a doodle especially if it is a kill shelter, or that is in any shelter , rescue or even just hears of a doodle needing a new home for whatever reason, you can email me directly - I am on DK during the work day but some days I must work - WOL!! Most of the doodles on PetFinder are already cross posted on the DRC site.

Even if you see a doodle on CL, email me. I will send an email suggesting to this person to be very careful who they adopt their doodle out to - sending their doodle to any rescue, whether it be DRC, IDOG or a local rescue is much safer for their dog. Most times when I get a response I get a thank you for educating them, that they weren't aware of what they may getting their dog into.

Thanks!

First time ever for Goldendoodle puppies ever in our rescue ! We placed two adults last year, and get weekly requests for the breed. But they are dogs that are owned by responsible families and don't come up for adoption often, if at all. These five puppies are from Palmdale. The woman we got them from owns the mom. Her son owns the father. Her son was just deployed to Iraq. His mother could not take care of the 12 puppies on her own. She put a plea out to our rescue and others to take the pups. If she wasn't asking $1,800-$2,200 she would have been able to place them. Like Pit Bulls and Chihuahuas were 10 years ago, these dogs are so over priced. Part of this is because of the stability and temperament of the breed, but mostly due to the fact that they are non shedding and hypoallergenic. We have added $200 to our adoption fee to cover the expense of compensating her for the puppies and having the mom fixed. This is still just a third of what breeders are asking. We hope to find them the most loving homes, and we will adopt out to families with kid, cats, and or other dogs.

This is the copy from the PF link for the puppies. A lot of wrong info given - non-shedding and hypoallergenic - lots of members on DK can atest to that; kids, cats and/or other dogs - not all doodles like kids, cats and other dogs.

This is why dogs should go to breed specific rescue - IMHO. They would know the specifics of the breed just as we all here know about doodles. A breed specific rescue makes sure that the adoptive family knows about the breed so the dog goes to a forever home. Could you being the family getting this puppy, turns out to shed, afraid of kids and hates cats? How long would it take for that doodle to be looking for another home? It doesn't state anywhere that these are very active dogs and must have a place to exercise; th.at they must have obedience training or they can get into trouble because they are so smart

Sorry about my venting - it frustrates me to no end that correct information is not being given about Doodles and in the end, the potential for them to have to be rehomed is too great. I can only hope that I am so wrong!
I agree with your frustration on incorrect information being given. Many of the people here on DK got their doodles under the false impression that all doodles are good with kids, friendly, non-shedding, etc.
However, this particular rescue group is a breed specific group...for pitbulls and other "bully breeds". The owner/breeder of these puppies obviously asked them to list the puppies, and they went with the owner's wording on hypoallergenic, etc. The other comments you quoted "we will adopt out to families with kid, cats, and or other dogs" are being taken out of context. Their normal policy is that they do not adopt to families with kids, cats, or other dogs, due to the nature of the dogs in their rescue. So in this listing, they are simply saying that for these particular puppies, they are making an exception to their usual policy.
I am very appreciative of the local private rescue groups who save dogs of all kinds from kill shelters. Many of them do good work and are necessary in their communities. The private rescue from which I adopted Jack is excellent. All legitimate rescuers are deserving of support in their communities and from other rescue groups.
Those pups are adorable!!!!!
