I was looking thru pet ads and found one for a Free Labradoodle. This is not my dog!! I promise nothing other than 150% support of my helping someone here adpot him. He will be surrendered to a KILL shelter if a home isn't found. Please don't let this happen.
Everything I know about this dog is from one post. I do not know these people or I would certainly have schooled them on caring for a doodle.
Post below:
"I just adopted my poodle yesterday and my husband was hesitant to adopt this beautiful labrador; however, the 2 yr old dog thinks he is an indoor dog and will not stay outdoor. He is up to date as I adopted him from the City shelter. He is 52lbs and is 2 yrs old. I really do not want to take him back to the shelter as I would rather find him a nice home. I also have a $50 voucher towards getting him neutered.
He is a wonderful dog! He is playful and seems obidient. Also, we noticed that when he has to "take care" of business, he scratches at the door and has been doing it outside. I guess that means he is housebroken, yet I do not like a dog of that size indoors and from the looks of it, he only wants to be inside. Now, I do not have enough yard for him otherwise would have him outdoors.

Really bad picture attached. I will call the owner and ask for better photos now.
I am driving from Dallas to Chicago on Friday and would be thrilled to deliver him anywhere on this route.
Wow. That's pretty confusing info from the owners. It sounds like they adopted him to be an outside dog, because they think he's too big to be an inside dog. Yet she says later that her yard isn't big enough to have him outside. Which doesn't really matter, because the dog wants to be inside. If they don't want him inside, and don't have a big enough yard for him outside, I wonder where they were planning to keep him. Anyway, I hope he finds his real forever home.
I agree with Leslie and Adina- the whole ad is very confusing and misleading to me...I also agree that it looks like a pit mix. First she calls it a poodle, then a labrador. Any shelter would have insisted on the dog's being an indoor dog. And nobody would pay a fee to adopt a dog one day and then 'want to find him a nice home" the next. Didn't they talk about it first?
There's something hokey about this, is the feeling I get. I think it's somebody trying to get rid of their dog or pull a scam. I would be very, very careful on this one. First, I'd find out what shelter he was adopted from, and then contact them to verify it, before doing anything else.
Not all shelters insist on dogs being indoors. Some dont care if the dog is altered. Some dont check references or do any type of verification that the person indeed even has a house or a yard. Many will just let anyone adopt and just cross their fingers that it all works out. Its their idea of at least giving the dog a chance. Thats one less dog that will die that day.
In addition, many will call any sort of kind of scruffy coat dog a labradoodle. Anything to get the dog adopted out and out of the shelter.
There is indeed something smelly with this situation with this dog. :)
I was thinking the same thing...poor baby...people can be so awful sometimes...like reading all the rescues in need of homes and their stories. It just kills me!!! :(
Where is this dog located?
The photo is really bad so I can gleen much from it. My "drive by" view it looks like a bullybreed mix. But cant say for sure either way.
I hope that someone adopts the boy, he certainly needs to find a loving home.
He is located in Dallas, Tx as best as I can tell.
I thought the same about the photo, I have asked for more photos via e-mail from the owner. As of now, there has been no response. I am trying for the dog's sake.
I would be very leery of this ad. It has to many earmarks of a scam. Not a thing adds up!
On a side note to this, I found a 3 legged lab mix this past weekend. I was pretty sure that my neighbor/co-worker knew this dog because I had heard stories before of a 3-legged dogs wondering ways in the neighborhood. I made flyers and put them up since I was not able to get a hold of my friend right away. Later that day when he came home he confirmed that was the same dog and got me in touch with the elderly owners.
The very next day I got a call from a man claiming (then demanding) the dog was his after seeing the flyer I had put up. Only when I caught him up on the gender question did he finely give in. I have to ask myself how many lost, over weight, white & cream, lab mix, 3 legged, dogs are there in my neighborhood. Then to top it off he called at night from a cell phone. Wouldn’t you call during the day as soon as you seen the flyer? I am SO thankful I found the owner right way because I am sure I would have giving him to someone that he DID NOT belong to and I hate to think what would have happened to him.
So there are a lot of creeps out there and a lot of scams. People will do anything…. unfortunately!
I have to agree - from the picture he does look like a lab/pit mix. How sad that someone would adopt this beautiful dog with the intention of keeping him outside. I never could understand that. I sure hope a good home can be found for him! He's probably a great dog that just needs some love. My heart breaks for him.
