Full of Poop!
My Bodi has been spitting up just a little bit these last few days. I decided to take him to the vet to check it out. I thought I was being an over-protective mother, but he ended up getting an x-ray that shows he is FULL OF POOP! (My teenage boys are having a great time using the other expression) He has been acting totally normal with the exception of the spitting up and so I almost ignored it! He is now on a stool softener, he had a shot to lessen any inflamation and we have some canned dog food that Bodi LOVES. I hope he will go back to the regular food when he is better! We still have no idea why he is backed up, but the hope is that the medicine and food will clear him up. Wish me luck!

The vet isn't sure why this happened. She mentioned that there was a dog with the same symptoms who ate an entire kitchen towel! Bodi loves to chew tissues, but we still don't know . . . and we couldn't see anything but poop in the x-ray. I'm hoping for a lot of outside time tomorrow!

Sending our best to Bodi. How awful he must feel! Hope everything clears up soon and keep us posted. I didn't know that could happen either (unless they ingest something, like you mentioned)

Good luck! I hear of all the soft stool problems all the time (my Cassie included), but never of constipated dogs!

Bodi is doing better, but I still took him back to the vet today. The stool softener is definitely working (!) but I was looking for LOTS of poop this weekend which just didn't happen. The vet said his belly feels softer and she thinks he just needs time. We got 7 more cans of Bodi's new favorite food! The vet also suggested a few spoonfuls of plain low fat yougurt every day. I took away Bodi's rawhide and replaced it today with the CET chews I read about somewhere else on Doodlekisses.
