Gained 4 Pounds in One Week

My puppy gained 4 pounds in one week. I weighed him @ 8 weeks & he weighed 10 pounds. I weighed him exactly 7 days later @ 9 weeks and he weighs 14 pounds. Is this good or bad? He doesn't feel fat or anything but he looks like he is growing over night.

I think that's normal. Holly grew very fast when she was a young pup, I'd be more concerned if he wasn't gaining weight :). You should join the puppy madness group, they have good discussions on weights and ages for all sizes of doodles.

Skinny Spud gained 10 lbs in one month--twice. He only weighs in now at 52.3 lbs. I certainly would NOT worry about weight gain in a puppy or ever try to place him on a diet. Feed that baby!

On our first vet visit the vet said, " See you in a month. He should double his weight from his eight week check up"
