Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello! I was curious if someone could explain to me how the generations of goldendoodles work.

A friend of mine is considering a goldendoodle. Her dog would be the product of an F1 (the mom) and an F1BB (the dad). She (like post people i suppose) wants a non shedding dog. I've tried to explain that all goldendoodles are not non shedding, but she doesn't seem to believe me haha. Was hoping someone could give me some insite so I could relay the info back to her.

I personally would love an Australian labradoodle! So so cute haha :). And thanks for the great poodle tip! I will let my friend know :)

I am in no way recommending this Poodle breeder, but they do have lots of photos of Poodles with natural coats, natural tails, and unshaved faces, that your friend could look at to see what a Poodle really looks like without the silly trims: http://parispoodles.com/

From the website; This is a Standard Poodle. Wouldn't you have thought it was a goldendoodle?

And this dog will absolutely never shed a single hair, lol.

In fact, Haley, you should have your friend read through this discussion which was started by Sydney's owner. Something to think about: http://www.doodlekisses.com/forum/topics/ever-have-second-thougths

Read through this earlier this morning and wow!!! I couldn't believe that she was not an actual golden retriever!! I wonder how that happens (genetics in biology was sooo not my strong suit). She is very loveable looking but I can see how they were disappointed wanting a non shedding goldendoodle looking dog. If I could, I would clone yeti. He looks exactly how I always wanted my GD to look (although I was so excited just to have a dog I would have just been in love with him not matter what).

This is my son's poodle puppy at about 10 weeks.  He wanted a pure poodle  likes the shaved nose, but notice what her coat looks like. It is softer and straighter than Ned's. The breeder had given her a trim when he picked her up two weeks earlier. But you can see how she could be cut to look very doodle-like.
