Anybody's dog pull like a sled dog with this thing on? Hershey's gotten so much better, but some days, like today - she just puts her head down and pulls me down the street with her face!
Every time I stop, she stops and comes and sits by my side and looks at me. And then we take another couple steps and I have to stop again, and she comes, without prompting, and sits by my side... Am I doing it right? Any suggestions? The gentle leader fits her, and like I said, sometimes she's great! It's gotten to the point where we will soon have to replace the gentle leader due to wear and her pulling!

We lifted Ned up and took him to sniff the giant penguin and it DID help. I don't know if he will transfer it to other "giants that move in the wind," but we will see.
I loved the idea of Touch. Then I gave it more thought. What if he bites one of these giant balloons? We would either have to run ............ or, even worse, buy a replacement. Biting and running is sounding real good :)
Well, you have already done the run, scream and tangle so I think you are ready for the bite, run, scream and tangle!! Don't you? Actually, we could lift Ned so he was more equal to the "critter" and he very gingerly sniffed. Then he seemed ok but that was only one blow-up thingy. We haven't encountered any others yet.
Amazingly enough, JD has completely gotten over his fear of the holiday lawn decorations! Halloween is the worst in my neighborhood...some of the stuff even scares me! Ten foot tall zombies, sudden ghoulish wails, bats swinging from tree branches...but Jack is finally okay with it. This from a dog who used to refuse to walk past a certain house because they had a little statue of a cocker spaniel near the driveway! If you keep on trying, you can accomplish anything with these guys, I'm convinced of that.
Crying Here LOL LOL LOL

Thanks for reminding me about Halloween. How soon we forget the HORRORS. This whole thing started with Halloween and has gotten worse.

Someone moved a lawn goose dressed as a witch to the end of their drive. It was dusk and I wasn't paying attention. Spud Freaks and jumps back, I Scream and run and soon we were a tangled mess in the road screaming and barking all because of a cement yard goose. At least you got spooked by a Ten Foot Tall Lawn Zoombie! . A GOOSE? How embarrassing. Shhh. Don't tell anyone. Jack, I am afraid a Cocker spaniels too.
ROFL and PIMP! Honk!
OKAY THAT DID IT! HONK HONK HONK.......... OMG HONK. OKay, I have been on here too long today. I feel drunk from just typing, Laughing to hard. Crying on keyboard.

For some reasons Duck Honk sounds have always make me laugh. Don't they sound like they are laughing.

Okay, way off subject now. Sorry
Way, way off topic, perhaps, but very, very funny. I woke up to THIS this morning and started my day LAUGHING! How fun for me.
Going to the dog park in Seal Beach for a romp today; hope we don't encounter any inflated geese or Cocker spaniels!
I love the Gentle Leader Harness. We are using it as a training method to help teach Timbow to heel and it has worked miracles. We will eventually take it off and put a regular collar on him to finish the training, but since he's such a big dog and has so much puppy energy, this has helped us a lot. Also, I know that a lot of therapy organizations have approved harnesses, so they can't be that bad. :)
Oh my what a discussion, when I got Lucy at 10 weeks it did not take long for me to realize that when she was grown I was NOT going to be able to walk her the way she was pulling at that age. Again, there was no Doodlekisses to help me with this, SO I went to Tractor Supply, looked at all of the equipment they had there and decided to get a Halti which is the same as a Gentle Leader. Lucy hated it, as she still does, BUT guess what, I could walk her. I did take her to obedience classes where she was taught to heel among other skills. She is now 3 1/2 and I continued to use the Halti, until I got tired of people asking me if she bites because I have a muzzle on her I decided to try the Gentle Leader Easy Walker. Well, guess what, I love it !!! Lucy heels perfectly with it and she doesn't mind it at all. I give all the credit for this to the use of the Halti AND good training with cont. practice. She now will heel WITHOUT a collar/harness of any kind. I am very proud of her.
I agree that it is how an individual decides to "train" they dog and what works best for you! Good Luck Erin :-)
We have a Sporn Harness. Our dog walks well on just a collar but I bought the harness at Big Lots ( a discount store in New York) for 3.00. Online they sell for 21.00. It's easy to put on, lined with sherpa so it's comfortable and is very well made. Like mentioned, our dog is not a puller, but I have had some in the past and this design seems very smart.
