Glandex. For anal glands!

Jack has an infection in his anal glands... In spite of my best efforts to bulk up his stools with sweet potatoe, pumpkin and green beans. He doesn't produce big enough stools to express his glands.. As I am typing this he is having his anal glands flushed, a growth removed and teeth cleaned... Merry Christmas to him right.......

The vet recommends this product to me......I was wondering what you thought of it and if anyone's dog is on it?

Jennifer, I'm curious to know how you discovered Jack was having a problem. Sadie's poops are normal 90% of the time, so I always thought she didn't have anal gland issues, but for the last 3-4 months I've been noticing that maybe once a month or so she has some kind of leakage down there. She seems totally oblivious to it, doesn't really lick herself much or do any butt scooting--if she weren't so blond I might not have even noticed.

Becka, the only thing I noticed is that he was licking his bum! I had just taken him in three weeks prior to the other day so I thought it was odd....he did t scoot or anything.... I just thought I was being over protective as usual.....

The good news is, his anal glands were fully inspected and they are normal so either he has some kind of weird bacteria in the anal area or he just got them infected. We will see how he does now that they are flushed and he is on antibiotics....

Since he was already under I had them do a dental on him but I am sort of sorry because all these hours later and he is still pitiful and stoned .....he was nothing like that after his other dental....

I will let you know how the stuff works..... He never leaks fluid. It just gets stuck in his glands. They said full anal glands feels to the. Like they have a fist up their behind...... He never showed much distress poor guy!

Let me know how the product works for Jack. Bubba has to get his glands cleaned every 6-8 weeks even though he has normal stools. For a while he was having lots of tummy issues and had to get them cleaned every 3 weeks but after a food change he has had solid stools. Even with solid stools after about 6 weeks or so we can start to smell his butt when he walks past us and he will start to lick a lot. That's when we know it's time to get him in! So a product that might help with that woud be wonderful for him!!

I will for sure let you know.... I am anxious for it to come....he has had the need for anal gland expression on and off throughout his life ... He has been on acanna now for a while and doing well, I sometimes add Stella and Chewys .....

His glands were inspected and appear perfect in shape.....i hate him being on antibiotics ..he feels so yucky on them. She has him slightly above the maximum dose for his weight and it is driving me crazy??

I don't know how long it will take to see if the stuff works but I will update for sure!

I will also be interested in how it works.  Out of our 3, Sully is the one with gland issues.  About every 5 weeks we have to take him to the vet.   I can tell when it's time when Beau starts to stop and smell his behind :)   His stool is perfectly normal and he's on Acana (loves it to pieces).    We put Metamucil in his food but still have to visit the vet.

Thank you! THe product was actually delivered by the mail today.. On a Sunday… Go figure, I will give it to him with his night time meal…. I guess my theory of fully formed stools squeezing the anal glands is out.. Jack doesn't have fully formed stool, it is usually small and in pieces. I will let you know….
